The Raimis Working On Evil Dead 4

Deadites rejoice! The script for Evil Dead 4 is on its way. I would say that Sam Raimi is hard at work on the movie, but apparently that would be an untrue statement. It turns out that Raimi and his brother have been hammering away at it every time they’re together hanging out in their garage in Detroit, at a rate of one page per meeting. We may not get the script in a long time, if ever, but damn if that isn’t the best screenwriting process I’ve ever heard.

“There’s some dialogue. Ash being an idiot. Ash taking some abuse. Some character stuff and then some structure of Act Two. Just other possibilities for things that could happen. It’s ideas, jokes, things we’d like to see.”

One of my top theatrical experiences was catching Army of Darkness on opening night. During one of the first scenes, as Ash falls through the portal into the past, one audience member yelled out “Where’s the tree?!?” A moment later the tree followed Ash through the portal. That’s when I knew I was finally among my people. If Evil Dead 4 is able to give me half as much pleasure as that moment, I’ll be a very satisfied senior citizen. Are you excited about Evil Dead’s slow crawl toward a quadrilogy, or have do you have no faith in the magic of the Raimi garage?



  • I’m VERY excited! The first 3 Evil Dead-films are fantastic, so I really hope that the 4th become a reality. This is much better news than the rumour of a possible remake.

  • I almost wish they would just stay quite about it until they begin filming.

  • This probably wont happen and that might be for the best. Bruce Campbell is too old and the low-budget stop-motion effects are a great part of the enjoyment. CG Deadites and Old Ash aren’t key ingredients to this great trilogy.

    There’s a possibility Raimi could have contracted George Lucas Disease.

  • After seeing “Drag Me to Hell,” I have complete faith that Sam and Ivan Raimi can bring back the Evil Dead series successfully. That movie was classic Raimi horror!

    I love the idea of a fourth evil dead movie. I just finished reading If chins could kill: confessions of a B movie actor and watched the first evil dead again with a whole new perspective and appreciation. I love Army of Darkness and have the “bootleg” directors cut Bruce Campbell vs. the Army of Darkness and like it much better than the theatrical cut of the movie with the funny but happy ending in the s-mart. I wonder if this project happens will he take it the standpoint of caught in the future, or will it take it from the s-mart ending. At any rate, very excited about this slated project.

    How anyone claiming to be an Evil Dead fan could excrete such bile as “Bruce is too old” or “Sam Raimi is the new George Lucas” makes me want to tie you up, take you to an old cabin and lock you in the fruit cellar.
    Don’t worry.
    You’ll be safe from Deadites…you don’t have a soul.

    its a sad day in horror sam raimi is fuckin whack i used to think he was awesome ,too think i was a huge fan of the evil dead trilogy like HUGE and all i ever wanted was too see another evil dead movie but that will never happen because sam raimi’s too busy with movies that fuckin suck balls, like get real sam raimis gonna fuckin direct the world of warcraft movie, thats pathetic like warcraft is for fuckin faggits and losers who dont have a life at all, too think that sam raimi tried too tease us with from the director of the evil dead trilogy on drag me too hell .like i said before im a huge evil dead fan and this is just pisses me off cause bruce campbell pretty much ruined the good half of his career by waiting on sam raimi to make another one, but no he has fuckin strung all his real fans along with telling us that he’s working on another one(please dont be a remake because thats not whta horror fans want to see, like really a warcraft movie like get fuckin real i hate world of warcraft like this goof i know plays it all the time and to be honest that game fuckin sucks, if i wanted to play games i hit up my 360 with games that are dope like ghostbusters and deadrising and splatterhouse, sam raimi us real horror fans are waiting for the next evil dead and you shrug us off for a movie that we wont even watch,he pretty much turned around and said fuck all of my evil dead fans im a geek now and im going to go play my fag game to make my fag movie soo you know what sam raimi i was your biggest fan and you let me down so fuck you and your warcraft movie. i think that thats a big giant fuck you too the hardcore fans who supported the evil dead trilogy and i think if they dont make it soon it wont be worth it im sorry to say but Sam raimi has let all of us down…ever since ive been dieing to see evil dead 4 come out for years, it breaks my putrid lil heart knowing we’ll never see our great hero ash put the chainsaw back on his severed right arm and say groovy once more
