Weird Al to Appear in Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. Or H2. Whatever it’s Called.

Weird Al and Rob Zombie

Good news everyone! According to Rob Zombie’s blog, Weird Al Yankovich has been cast in Halloween 2 as a television talk show host. Here’s why I’m not surprised: First off, Rob Zombie has a serious love of long, stringy hair. This means Weird Al is totally his man. Second; he cast Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees as a gun salesman in the first Halloween. Actually, Zombie seems to do a lot of this type of casting. Like Tarantino, he tends to gravitate towards character actors he likely was a fan of growing up. I’m cool with that. The only problem is he seems to just throw bad wigs on them and get them to call each other dog fuckers and what not. Man, I’m totally down for a Travolta style Weird Al career revitization! Although I wasn’t a huge fan of Zombie’s Halloween remake, I must give him credit for not simply rehashing the story. He’s made it his own. Because of this, I would say that this is one sequel of a remake that I can get behind.

  • I like Weird Al… I always have. Hey– he even sings backup for Ben Folds… what a cool guy.

He’s actually not the host in the scene. He plays himself. The scene was filmed where I work and I saw him rehearsing.

Nice! I can’t wait to see that scene. Just to be clear, though, it’s “Yankovic”, not “Yankovich”.
