Legend of Hell House creates an atmosphere that few other haunting films have achieved.. A solid story by Richard Matheson.. and let’s not forget the beautiful Pamela Franklin.

I’d put that even second with “The Innocents”. I loved “The Sixth Sense” but it isn’t really about a house as such. “The Others” was boring. I was more scared by a talk show appearance by the couple who claimed the Amityville haunting had actually happened to them (before it was exposed as a hoax) than by the movie. The other two I haven’t seen.

I love “The House on Haunted Hill”, being a huge fan of William Castle, but SPOILER, SPOILER, SPOILER the house isn’t really haunted.
