Don’t watch ‘I spit on your Grave’ either. The on screen rape scene in this film is about 15 minures long. This is the true horror of both these movies. What makes it scary is that it happens in the real world and could happen to anyone. With such a reputation that both these movies have why would a remake want to put the rape scenes off screen? Why would one want to ‘sterilise’ it or pull punches so to speak. If you don’t like this subject matter, then don’t go there. I hate rapists and they should pay dearly for their crimes which is why I like the final scenes of both films because the justice is dished out accordingly.

you missed the brutal rape scene! it was the most horrible thing i have ever seen–maybe it’s because i’m a woman, so it makes me a little more sensitive about it…. but, it was totally uneccesary. that really shouldn’t have been shown. i’ve seen movies where they’ve implied a character has been raped, but never one that showed an entire scene of it.
