For fun I tried compiling a quick list of my own for comparison. I stopped at 100 films, and I didn’t even include any of the ones in the Moviefone list. So, yeah, if you’re going to make a Top 40 list for an entire decade, you’re going to have to make a few cuts.

Back to the future is definitive 80’s, even in its own plot…and its the top grossing movie of 1985…what is more entrenched in the 80’s then that.
