I got excited when you read my email Sean! I am a little disappointed that “Blart” didnt sneak into the discussion somehow!

If you can’t tell from last night’s podcast .. it dakes me DAYS to get erections.

I’m totally getting the Ip Man bluray based on Reed’s recommendation. Sounds pretty good and it’s got 7.1 audio tracks.

I wonder if Jay saw Cops this week. It was a good one. Someone got busted for drunk driving a bicycle. And another guy was on PCP.

You will have to be more specific. You’ve just described every third episode of Cops.

(No, I didn’t see this weeks episode unfortunately)

  • Have you watched that new COPS style show Homeland Security Jay?

  • There was 3D porn done back in the 70’s and a few of those films still tour the Midnight circuit. I’m kind of surprised they haven’t hit Toronto. Disco Dolls in The Hot Skin tends to be the crowd favorite, primarily because it stars Johnny Wad.

And you haven’t experienced 3D until you’ve seen John Holmes in 3D.

  • dirrrty frank, your comment came out of left field.

joe, let me know what you think about Ip Man. The feel of the movie is reminiscent of Jet Li’s Fearless. I thought Fearless was awesome, but I’m not sure that movie was appreciated by most people. I think what I’m jazzed about concerning Ip Man is the use of Wing Chun’s multiple-punch technique. I should have demonstrated that on the video podcast, but I probably would have ripped the arms off of my faux tux.

BTW, I saw an import of the Ip Man BluRay in Canada for $50. Asian BluRay films are expensive. I’m waiting for the cost of bootlegging BluRay to drop. :-)

Jay, thanks for the response. Those Bava Collections ARE awesome. The Dario Argento 5-pack is also great (if uneven). The Manhunter release: great.

oh yeah, for the record, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is fantastic. Really really funny performances(and especially from Val Kilmer). Having watched a lot of film noir in the last 2 years, it was really fun watching Shane Black twist around those conventions.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, since they weren’t mentioned, that Yo La Tengo have done some awesome scores for Old Joy, Shortbus, Game 6, and Junebug. Selected tracks from all of these soundtracks were released by Yo La Tengo with one of the best and most suitable album titles, They Shoot, We Score.

I’m pretty sure this week’s episode of Cops was new, so I didn’t explain much else. Anyways it was good.

The Homeland Security show is pretty good. Unfortunately I have a time conflict and can’t watch it. My brother is becoming one of those guys, so it’s kind of cool to see what he will be doing. Obviously they show only the best parts though.

Reed – The bluray (HK version) is on yesasia.com for $36 USD. So that’s actually not bad! HK releases are always a little cheaper (and sometimes poorer quality). But they usually have the best sound options.
