yeah, it looks like he’s really lived up to his promise with this one. sometimes the seriousness of his movies is sort of a liability. Batman Begins could have really benefited from a little humor, for instance. The Dark Knight was exponentially better in all ways, but it also noticeably had more humor. there is always a lot of promise in his movies. he has good ideas, and he certainly always makes great film *trailers*! ha ha. really looking forward to this one. i actually don’t care if there are any jokes in this one, i suspect it would succeed on it’s other merits otherwise.

I’m really excited to see someone doing it right and having the fans back themup if the comments on this blof is any indication. I liked The Prestige better than The Dark Knight too, though it was still a great batman film…or film period. But I’m more excited about this project I think. It’s rare to see anything about a half decent sci-fi film. Rarer still to have it done properly. And probably even more rare to have a good director attached. I’ll definitely see this one when it comes out.

Oh the Prisoner. I’m rewatching the original right now, that’s an awesome show. I hope that if Nolan does do a film or miniseries or something that they keep it in the 60’s. Otherwise the tech angle would be just too much. I prefer it when some of the bells and whistles are actually bells and whistles.

Considering THE PRESTIGE is a better film than either of the Bat-flicks, I’m more interested in what Nolan does in between Mega-Blockbusters (those rare $40Million efforts)

I think Nolan should take as long a break as possible from Batman, I mean, that movie is legendary now. He should just take his time build up his filmography with interesting little flicks like this, and then when nobody expects it, suprise everyone with a new Batman film. That’s how I would do it.

Yes, I’m excited for pretty much anything Nolan does next. Just this Saturday I watched my first movie on Blu-Ray and it was Memento. I’m very happy it was a movie that was that good. Also a couple of nights after seeing The Dark Knight for the first time, I dreamed that I watched a third Batman movie directed by Nolan and that Johnny Depp played the Riddler in it. It was a good dream. Insomnia is the only movie of his that didn’t blow me away. I didn’t think it was bad. I just thought it was somewhat mediocre.

i’m definitely excited that he’s not going straight into the new batman movie and working on his own passion project in between. my fave nolan film is the prestige, which he did between batman begins and the dark knight—i think this is a good model (doing the comic book movies then doing something else a little less commercial in between) for high quality directors who want to make big bucks doing comic book movies.
