Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian, Johnny Depp is a Stooge, Lionsgate and Weinsteins Fight Over Push

The recording of Christian Bale’s freak out on the set of Terminator Salvation spread far and wide this week, and although some people chalked it up to just being a slow news week, I think the appeal of the clip speaks for itself. The good news is, Bale has publicly apologized, and all is right with the world again. Also this week, Wall-E was snubbed at the Annie Awards in favour of Kung Fu Panda, yet another new John Carpenter horror project was added to the pile, and Lionsgate and The Weinstein Company are going to court over the rights to the Sundance hit Push (not the one in theatres right now), an indie drama that will probably gross all of $5 million. Sounds like it’s worth spending millions of dollars in legal fees over! Did we miss any other big stories this week?
