Casino Royale Director in Talks for Green Lantern Movie

The live action Green Lantern movie may finally have its director. According to Variety, Warner Brothers is currently in talks with Martin Campbell to take on the superhero flick, based on a script from Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green (Eli Stone, Everwood). Berlanti was previously under consideration to direct, but I think they made a wise choice in ruling him out since his only previous directing credit is The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy.

Martin Campbell is a name that carries some weight with fanboys since he was the man responsible for everyone’s favourite Bond flick Casino Royale. Personally I don’t think Campbell’s resume is all that impressive (he also did Goldeneye, Vertical Limit, The Legend of Zorro and The Mask of Zorro), but I’m sure Warner Brothers could also do a lot worse. Do you think Campbell is a good choice to direct Green Lantern? Who do you want to see cast in the lead role?
