New To Theatres This Weekend: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Inkheart, Outlander, The Dark Knight

Two major releases hit theatres this weekend, one of which is the prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, and the other being Inkheart, a family adventure movie starring Brendan Fraser (not in 3-D, unfortunately). The good news is that a lot of the Oscar nominees continue to expand this weekend, including Frost/Nixon, Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler, so if you haven’t seen some of them, you really should. Also, if “vampires vs werewolves” don’t interest you, in limited release we have the “vikings vs aliens” flick Outlander, in addition to John Madden’s long-delayed Killshot starring Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Diane Lane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Rosario Dawson. Plus The Dark Knight is back in IMAX theatres. What are you checking out this weekend?

I’m thinking of seeing Frost/Nixon tomorrow, since I have some movie theater gift cards to use up. Also, Let The Right One In is playing at a local art theater, so I really want to catch that one this week.
