Peter Farrelly, Todd Phillips and Mike Judge To Collaborate on Untitled Sketch Comedy Film

It looks like one half of the Farrelly Brothers and their producer Charles Wessler are about to bring back the sketch comedy film, and they’re recruiting an interesting assortment of directors to help them do it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Farrelly has set up an untitled comedy project at Overture Films that will consist of up to 24 different short films. It is said to be in the vein of the Zucker/Zucker/Abrahams classic Kentucky Fried Movie, but also inspired by recent anthologies like Paris Je T’aime and New York, I Love You.

Among the comedic talent that will contribute to the film are Todd Phillips (Road Trip, Old School), Mike Judge (Office Space), Josh Gordon and Will Speck (Blades of Glory), and everyone’s favourite Hollywood hotshot, Brett Ratner. Farrelly will be directing two of the segments himself. Personally I think this is an awesome idea, I just hope they recruit Weird Al Yankovic for a few of the segments as well, so he can recreate the sketch comedy brilliance of UHF! What do you think, is this destined to be a new comedy classic?
