Weekly Poll Results: Best Non-Pixar CG Movie

Last week we asked you guys what your favourite non-Pixar computer animated movie is, and while some people thought the choices were pretty limited, the votes ended up getting spread around pretty nicely. That said, there was a clear winner: Dreamworks’ Shrek. I can understand why it won since it is easily the most successful CG movie franchise of all time, and had a huge influence on all the computer animated movies that followed. (Unfortunately this is also why I have grown to dislike it.) Kung Fu Panda ended up just edging out Monster House for the #2 spot, and Ice Age and Beowulf tied for the #4 spot. Surprisingly, Bolt was dead last… maybe that 85% Rotten Tomatoes rating isn’t all it’s cracked up to be?

1. Shrek — 27.4%
2. Kung Fu Panda — 17.4%
3. Monster House — 16.3%
4. Ice Age — 10%

6. TMNT — 6.3%
7. Antz — 5.8%
8. Happy Feet — 3.7%
9. Horton Hears a Who — 2.1%
10. Bolt — 1.1%

I watched Kung Fu Panda tonight and I loved it. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, so it was a nice surprise. If Dreamworks can keep up that level of quality then Pixars got some competition.
