New To Theatres This Weekend: Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, Blindness

There’s a ton of stuff opening this weekend, so be sure to read a few reviews and choose wisely! The biggest releases are Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua and the Michael Cera/Kat Dennings coming of age comedy Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, followed by Simon Pegg in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. Playing in a slightly smaller number of theatres we have Fernando Mereilles’ Blindness and the Ed Harris western Appaloosa, along with Bill Maher’s documentary Religulous. In select theatres, look for Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla and the Jonathan Demme indie dramedy Rachel Getting Married. What will be getting your money this weekend?

  • I hope to catch a “double feature” of Blindness and Religulous this weekend. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist looks just about the opposite of something I want to watch.

I really want you guys to review Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Do it for the P-cast.

  • Rocknrolla, Rocknrolla, Rocknrolla! I’m dying to see that movie. I live in the middle of nowhere though, so I’ll probably have to wait a few weeks.

I’d like to catch Blindness (I just realized how odd that sounds) and How To Lose Friends And Alienate People, but I don’t know if I’ll be going out of my way for either of those.

  • there were some awkward moments in this movie that were hard to get past… such as every time that gum was re-used (yuck!)
