This Week on DVD: Aug. 19, 2008

There’s plenty of TV on DVD this week, but not all that much in the way of decent movies unfortunately. Major releases include the Keanu Reeves/Forest Whitaker crime thriller Street Kings, the horror remake Prom Night, and direct to DVD sequel The Scorpion King 2 starring UFC star Randy Couture and directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander). Crispin Glover’s remake of The Wizard of Gore is also out this week, along with a well-received HBO feature starring Kevin Spacey called Recount. Overall, you might be better off losing yourself in Dexter: Season 2 or Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Season 1 instead. Are you picking up anything this week?

Kenny vs Spenny season 4 was supposed to come out today too, but I believe it has been pushed back a week.

Definitely picking up Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 1 today.

Still not sure if I should go DVD or Blu-Ray. You guys think it’s worth spending the extra $10 on Blu-Ray?
