The Riddler to Appear in Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max Instead of the Next Batman Movie

There’s been plenty of talk lately about who could possibly follow up The Joker as a compelling villain for Christopher Nolan’s inevitable sequel to The Dark Knight. Although Catwoman has some supporters, it seems like The Riddler is by far the biggest fan favourite, and the character that would fit best into the somewhat realistic world that they have created thus far.
And although no one really knows what Nolan might have up his sleeve for Batman 3, it seems that The Riddler will indeed be coming to the big screen one way or another. Screenwriter Justin Marks recently revealed to MTV that he is one of the characters involved in David Goyer’s upcoming super villain prison break movie, Green Arrow: Escape from Super Max. In addition to The Riddler, Lex Luthor also makes an appearance, along with Green Lantern foe Icicle and an indirect cameo from The Joker.
It’s all a part of the new approach that DC and Warner Brothers are taking with their comic book movies (modeled after Marvel, of course) where all the characters exist in the same universe and cross over into each other’s films. With that said, I’m not sure if that makes it more or less likely that The Riddler would end up in a sequel to The Dark Knight. All I know is that Brian Austin Green recently made a public declaration that he wants the role, and that is a very scary thought indeed!
