J.J. Abrams to Produce Another Mysterious Disaster Movie

Another day, another new project for J.J. Abrams. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creator of Lost and Alias has attached himself to a new disaster movie, although it’s still unclear whether or not this one will involve a giant monster leveling Manhattan. What is clear is that it has something to do with an earthquake, and David Seltzer (The Omen, Dragonfly) will be writing the script.

Abrams is obviously in high demand right now, but you have to wonder if he might be over-extending himself. Does he really need to put his name on every single one of these projects? It also doesn’t help that this is another movie where they are keeping the story under lock and key. I like mysteries just as much as the next guy, but after a while, you can’t help but roll your eyes. Be on the lookout for some viral websites that are sure to start popping up any day now!

Abrhams pisses me off. I mean I like what he does and all but he seems to never really finish what he starts in terms of his shows. I just can’t figure that out? If you’re trying to be an auteur or the goal is to tell an interesting story then how can you just bail on it and still be considered relevant to that story? Hell the Jurrasic Park guy created ER but hasn’t written an episode since the first couple.

Is Star Trek going to be considered as another one of his disaster movies? Haha.

So over JJ’s pompous “lock and key” BS. He really thinks his s@!* doesnt stink, but it definitely kinda smells
