Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist Trailer Starring Michael Cera

One of the movie’s premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September is Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, based on the book by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I didn’t know too much about it other than the fact that it stars Michael Cera, but now the first trailer has gone online to give us a better idea of what to expect.

Cera stars as Nick, a guy in a band who has just broken up with his girlfriend. In order to make her jealous, he asks a random girl (Norah) to pretend to be his new chick for five minutes… except that in the movie, it works the other way around (the girl asks him). Either way, they sort of hit it off and spend the rest of the night wandering around Manhattan and enjoying each other’s company. It seems like a Dazed and Confused coming of age flick, except that the involvement of Michael Cera gives off vibes of Superbad and Juno as well. The movie co-stars Kat Dennings (Charlie Bartlett), Aaron Yoo (21) and Jay Baruchel (Undeclared). Check out the trailer below and see what you think. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist hits theatres on October 3rd.

  • dirrrtyfrank

    looks fuckin horrible

  • Swarez

    This year’s Little Miss Juno.

  • Michael Cera can only play the nervous guy. He does it well but it’s getting old.

  • Yeah– Cera can be good (especially in “Arrested Development”) but his schtick is getting a bit old by now.

  • Josh Sittre

Cera rocks he doesn’t have to prove himself to any of you haters out there grasping at strings

  • Chopper

i like Cera, but i would like to see him do something alittle different. starting to get really old.

  • I really like Michael Cera, but this movie just doesn’t look interesting to me. Nothing against him or the film necessarily, but every actor is going to make a movie that isn’t right up everyone’s alley every now and then.
