well, i feel every summer should have a big humans vs aliens flick. If they can make a story that can even just string along awesome action set pieces I'm game. But thats my lowered expectations. I know better to hope for a well done game adaptations.

Which is why i'm both excited & scared about Bioshock because it was probably one of my top 5 gaming experiences ever; i did not want the game to end. the game has awesome twist but when you break it down it didn't have much in regards to story but that didn't matter, cause as you explored rapture you would start to put pieces together giving it great depth.

Yeah, that game was ok. I'm picky though and generally only enjoy 9-10 rated games. There didn't seem to be any real story to speak of though. It would be cool to see more video game adaptations all around as long as they aren't games never meant to have narratives like Super Mario Bros.

I'm with Rian, I wish they went with Romero's Resident Evil (that actually used the characters and events of the first game). They could still do it and call it by the Japanese title of Biohazard. Metal Gear Solid is a franchise worthy of adaptation by an A-list director with Christian Bale attached to star (although with Batman and Terminator obligations that seems unlikely). As long as they don't get Paul W.S. Anderson or Uwe Boll I wont feel the urge to kill.

I've played the game and really didn't think it had a great story. That's not to say that it isn't fun to play, but the story felt like it was just there to cushion the gameplay. In my opinion, studios should be paying more attention to games with good stories instead of just what's the most popular based on gameplay. I know that that will never happen, but I still yearn for the day when a Resident Evil movie worthy of it's name and a Metal Gear Solid movie hit the big screen.

Yea, I played and finished the game. And speaking strictly of the story, it starts out very good and interestingly, but as it progresses it becomes more convoluted, confusing, incopmrehensible, illogical, and all around more anime-ish. But the gameplay was interesting, varied, well paced, and fun throughout. So, I hope the empasis in this movie will be on the game's visual style and action-sequences instead of the story. The story has much to be desired but is not beyond saving, especially with the writer of the X-Men, penning a script.
