Eagle Eye Trailer Starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan

Just in time for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the first trailer for Shia LaBeouf’s new film Eagle Eye has just gone online over at Yahoo!. This project finds him re-teaming with Disturbia director D.J. Caruso, and although I wasn’t particularly taken with that flick, I have to admit that this looks pretty cool. What can I say? I think I’m slowly being won over by The Beef. The kid’s got game, don’t you agree?

The basic idea is that he and a single mom (Michelle Monaghan) are framed as terrorists and forced to participate in a political assassination of some sort, but the only contact they have with this organization is a series of mysterious phone calls. Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson also co-star. It reminds me a little of David Fincher’s The Game, although I think the final shot in the trailer was what ultimately pushed that comparison into my head. What do you think? Eagle Eye hits theatres on September 26th; check out the trailer now via the link below.

  • Disturbia wasn’t new but I didn’t mind it for typical Hollywood fare. And yeah, LaBeouf has shown that he can act – though I didn’t love it, he was good in Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Holes is a fun watch.

Again, this one doesn’t look like anything too new, though my understanding is that it’s Spielberg’s first original concept since the late 80’s, but it also doesn’t look bad. If anything, I’m curious.

I had no idea this was coming out so it looked very interesting.
I dig the Beef. The Beef is good.

  • Its very odd that this cones out just as i was questioning when the trailer for this movie would come out, i think the spirits are trying to please me.

  • The teaser looks a hell of a lot like the beginning of The Matrix, but I’m still excited. I was very surprised by how watch-able Disturbai was (most likely because I had very low expectations going in), and I’ve liked Shia since I first saw him in The Battle of Shaker Heights. Count me in for this one.

Sounds more like Nick of Time with Johnny Depp.

  • The beef certainly understands the idea of striking while the iron is hot. I don’t think his range is all that wide, but he’s okay.
