Lakeview Terrace Trailer Starring Samuel L. Jackson

Nothing sucks more than having neighbours that you don’t get along with. I mean, there will always be people in the world that you clash with for whatever reason, but having them live right next to you so that you can’t really escape them is both stressful and/or uncomfortable (not that I’m speaking from personal experience or anything). So now imagine you had a bad ass like Samuel L. Jackson living next door to you, and for some reason he decided he didn’t like you and was going to do everything in his power to get you to move. Oh, and what if he was also a cop? Stressful enough for you yet? This is the premise for Neil LaBute’s new thriller Lakeview Terrace, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington (Little Man) and Patrick Wilson (Little Children).

LaBute started his career in a promising way with a dark comedy called In The Company of Men, but in recent years has become known as “the guy who directed that horrible remake of The Wicker Man“. I have to admit, based on that fact I expected this trailer to be terrible, but I actually saw some potential despite the somewhat silly concept. It’s just one of those movies where no one believes the main characters except you, and that can be a very effective tool for suspense. Is this the next Disturbia? There are definitely some Hitchcock elements at work, I just wonder how straight they will play it and how much humour will be involved. Check out the trailer below and see what you think; Lakeview Terrace hits theatres on September 19th.

  • Sort of reminiscent of “Unlawful Entry”, what with Jackson abusing the fact that he’s a cop and all. It looks like a decent B movie– I’d check it out.

  • I see alot of funny games in there for some reason

I’m sure this is the type of film that will irritate the shit out of me because characters are unable to simply say “This guy is fucking crazy and he’s fucking with my life” to the right people.
I hate those types of films.

  • I really don’t understand the plot, sam jackson is a asshole, how does that make a good movie?

Come to think of it this reminds me a little of the classic Tom Hanks film The Burbs.

  • Aaron

I got a big Changing Lanes vibe from the trailer, especially with Samuel L. Jackson starring.
