Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: March 9, 2007

Patrick Swayze shocked the world this week with an announcement that he had been diagnosed with cancer. However, he promised that he will continue to work right through his treatment, and no one seemed too upset, because let’s face it… if anyone can kick the crap out of cancer, it’s Swayze. The first official photos from Zack Snyder’s Watchmen also hit the web and sparked a lot of excitement and discussion, meanwhile there was plenty of bellyaching about two more possible classic horror movie remakes, Rosemary’s Baby and Suspiria. Also, Seth Rogen has his next movie lined-up, and it appears he will be teaming with Jody Hill, director of cult classic comedy The Foot Fist Way, which will be getting released in theatres this year thanks to Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.

  • The news of the Spaced remake pisses me off to no end. It is the best television show ever made and now Fox has handed it off to McG to shit all over it. I hope FOX and WB both choke on a bag of dicks because of this.

It doesnt matter if there is a Spaced remake or not. The original isn’t going to just stop existing because of a remake.

  • I agree with Captain N
The frustrating thing is US Networks having the necessity of remaking the series while you could just buy the rights and show it off as meant to be. But I guess you could throw in the trend that Ricky Gervais unwillingly created into exporting and adapting British comedies. Good news is the DVD will actually make it across the Atlantic!
