People always read about how Star Trek influenced astronauts, scientists, doctors, etc. So I thought I would write about how Star Trek also affected under-achievers like myself and my friends. (Sorry Dave and Greg.)

I decided to go back to my hometown (a 7 hour drive) and visit with Dave, and I wanted to see how Greg was doing. So that's how that photo was taken, Henrik.

Rusty, I'm currently writing a 3 part article about all the movies. I'm not very good at writing movie reviews, but I thought I'd offer some opinions and hearsay.

BTW, I love to read other people's opinions and experiences with Star Trek, so feel free to comment at length.

Wow, the character of Reed Farrington reveals unknown depths. Who knew, I'm actually beginning to believe you're not Andy Kaufman.

Hopefully a heartfelt and emotional childhood tale from Greg about facial hair and HMV is in the waiting.

I recently rewatched Star Trek 6 and I think it's actually better than Wrath of Khan. I would love a review from you.

This was very touching article Reed. I think everyone can identify with acting out their favorite shows and movies, and the fact that friends can grow apart; and that we can make new ones.

thank you for bringing a smile to my face.

Henrik, nice comment about FilmJunk Greg and his red hockey-shirt!

In the colour photo, Dave's the guy with the Tigger shirt. Greg is the guy with the moustache and beard. The astute observer will notice that Dave and I interchanged our positions between the two photos. When we had the colour photo taken, all three of us couldn't remember our original positions in the b&w photo and we didn't have the b&w photo handy. (I suppose we should have taken six photos to cover all of the permutations.)

The colour photo was taken in 1998 and the inset b&w photo was taken in 1968. That's a 30 year difference!

Heartbreaking. Who's who in the picture? I only played Star Wars as a kid, unfortunately. When I got into Star Trek, I had grown beyond playing.

I think there should be a video of you 3 playing Star Trek. Maybe a cameo by Greg asking what the fuck is going on and getting killed (he could be wearing a red hockey--shirt).
