Step Brothers Trailer Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly

I know there are a lot of people out there who think Will Ferrell is overexposed right now, and maybe he is, but there are certain Will Ferrell movies that I will always make an exception for, no matter what. Specifically, any Ferrell flick that is co-written and directed by former SNL writer Adam McKay is virtually guaranteed to make you laugh until you puke. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby have made this team 2 for 2, and now they are returning with a movie called Step Brothers, co-starring John C. Reilly.

Brennan and Dale are step brothers who are both unemployed and still live at home. They hate each other’s guts, and fight all the time, until one day their dad tells them that he is forcing them to go to a series of job interviews. Suddenly the two find they have a lot in common, and become the best of friends. The movie once again rides on the basis of ridiculously stupid characters and cartoony situations, and although the trailer isn’t completely hysterical, you can just tell that there are going to be hundreds of classic one-liners and memorable scenes not shown in the trailer. What do you think, are you getting sick of seeing Will Ferrell on the big screen, or are you as psyched for this as I am? Step Brothers hits theatres on July 25th.

  • Goon

this trailer didn’t do much for me, but I’m pretty sure its going to end up pretty different from what we see here…

anyways, Semi-Pro is getting slaughtered by the critics, and what sucks is that since Will Ferrell is going through his backlash right now, I don’t know whether to trust the critics or not… I won’t know if its genuinely bad or just a result of collective Ferrell exhaustion until I see it myself.

  • The only fun moment for me was when he told the woman to shut her mouth. That’s the Will Ferrell I’m looking for.

  • Semi-Pro looks like the same ol’ Will Ferrell; a lot of shouting and super-confidence. But that’s hilarious so it’s good.

I have to admit, when the bunk bed broke, I laughed out loud.

Conan O’Brien should do more movies.

  • Also: the wierd music and pencil drawings really show an Andy Samberg kind of vibe?

  • I wasn’t a bit fan of Talladega Nights and this trailer didn’t do much for me…until the bunkbed incident which made me laugh.

I’m still curious about Semi-Pro if only for Harrelson.

And for some bizzare reason, I really, really liked Hot Rod. It hit all the right buttons for me.

isn’t the bunk bed thing from Black Sheep?

  • Just got the one sheet today at work. It is outstanding.

  • Meh.

  • Funniest part by far is when he tries to bury John C. Reily alive, “Your gonna wake the neighbors!” the Bunk Bed scene was funny to. this looks like some really fun stupid comedy.
