Boarding Gate Trailer Starring Asia Argento and Michael Madsen

You’ve gotta love Michael Madsen. He’s put in a few noteworthy performances over the years in movies like Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Brasco and Kill Bill, but he’s also appeared in more than his share of terrible, low-budget movies. Seeing Madsen’s name on a project certainly doesn’t guarantee quality, and yet it never fails to catch my attention. Now add Asia Argento as an ex-prostitute who gets caught up in a deadly web of lies and deceit, and you just might have something worth watching.

Boarding Gate is written and directed by French filmmaker Olivier Assayas, who is known for doing a few movies with Hong Kong star Maggie Cheung (whom he was married to at one point). The only thing I’ve seen by him is his segment from Paris Je T’aime, although I couldn’t tell you which one it was. Boarding Gate looks like an erotic thriller of some sort, with a fair bit of sex, violence, and a nice visual style as well. Nothing mind-blowing, but it could be a decent little flick. (If I haven’t sold you on it yet, perhaps the picture above will.) Boarding Gate will be released in select theatres by Magnolia Pictures on March 21st; check out the trailer over at Apple now.

  • I’m sorry. Nothing I read after “Asia Argento” sunk in. Except that photo.

  • Assayas always has interesting projects on the go, from Irma Vep to Demonlover to his new family drama “Summer Hours”

Glad to see a higher res trailer for Boarding Gate, hope that means this french director will actually get a release in North America, up to this point, he’s been woefully neglected…
