Jeffrey Tambor Confirms Arrested Development Movie is Happening

We’ve been hearing on again/off again rumours about an Arrested Development comeback for a while now, but like most cancelled TV shows, it always seemed to me that it was just wishful thinking on the part of the cast, creators and fans. There’s no doubt that the show still has a huge following out there, but then again you have to wonder… if so many people love it, how did it end up getting cancelled in the first place? Too ahead of its time? Maybe it can be chalked up to just another Fox blunder, but as far as I know, the ratings were never quite through the roof.
At any rate, this week we’ve got another hot tip from someone involved in the show who is actually saying with some measure of certainty that an Arrested Development movie will indeed be happening in the near future. Jeffrey Tambor (George Bluth Sr.) recently appeared on the The Ron & Fez Show on XM Radio and he said that he had spoken with Ron Howard, who informed him that there is “a real push to get a movie made”… after the strike, that is. Tambor confirmed that he was 100% on board and that Jason Bateman was also good to go. It’s certainly not an official announcement by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m starting to think that it might actually happen now. Keep your fingers crossed, Bluth fans!
