Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Jan. 13, 2007

A handful of interesting stories broke this week, the most important of which may very well be the cancellation of the Golden Globes. I say it’s important not necessarily because people care about the Globes, but because it could be a prediction of what’s to come for the Oscars. G.I. Joe casting announcements continued to roll in, but the addition of Marlon Wayans invited speculation as to whether or not the producers are smoking crack. The first trailer for Ong-Bak director Prachya Pinkaew’s follow-up film Chocolate blew a lot of minds, while the continuation of the Conan franchise on the big screen continued to move forward.
