The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Trailer

Just in time to premiere with The Golden Compass in theatres (I’m assuming), the first trailer for the next installment in the Narnia series has just hit the web. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is actually the 4th book in the series, but the continuation of the adventures of Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Prince Caspian is highly anticipated by a lot of people, but I can’t say I’m one of them. I thought the first Narnia movie was like Lord of the Rings-lite, and I couldn’t look past the fact that it was so simplistic and featured too many damn talking animals. Now that this children’s fantasy feature film arena is becoming even more overcrowded, I just don’t see anything different or special here… which is really too bad because I read most of the books when I was a kid and loved them at the time. The production of Prince Caspian suffered through a number of delays, which pushed it back to 2008. They’ve obviously used the time well and poured a ton of money into the special effects. And that’s about all I have to say about it really. The new trailer is playing over at Yahoo! now… does it make you excited, or is it looking like more of the same? The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian hits theatres on May 16, 2008.

  • I didn’t hate the first movie, it just didn’t live up to my expectations. To be completely honest, I’d already forgotten that they were working on a second one.

The trailer doesn’t look bad but it suggests it’ll be more of what we got in the first movie. I’ll still see it but I’m not particularly excited about it.

I didn’t like the first movie much at all (and i love the harry potters & pan’s labrynth). It didn’t seem geared toward adults at all, and the characters were bad. I’ll just rewatch one of the above mentioned.

Ok, first of all it was not geared towards adults because obviously they are based on C.S. Lewis’s novels, which are for children! And second this upcoming movie will be a whole lot better (if you read the books you will know this)and you see the trailer, this sequal is huge, darker and more epic. You may not be excited, but I know I am. We will see when the movie premiers in May.
