The Forbidden Kingdom Teaser Trailer Starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan

When we first heard about Jet Li and Jackie Chan teaming up for what seemed to be a kids movie, directed by the guy who did Stuart Little, I didn’t think it would be something I was interested in. The Forbidden Kingdom is about a teenaged American who makes a discovery that sends him to China, eventually getting pulled into a quest to save the “Monkey King”. But now that an unofficial teaser trailer has found its way online, I have to admit that the visuals and fight choreography look pretty impressive. Jackie Chan is a bit laughable in his long flowing locks, but the other than that there’s no hint of any slapstick comedy or PG-13 pandering. It’s possible that this is just a well-crafted trailer designed to hide the silly stuff, but if that’s the case, their ploy has worked because they’ve got my attention now! The Forbidden Kingdom hits theatres on April 18th; check out the trailer below.

  • This indeed looks pretty amazing. The visuals are stunning, but from the premisce you’ve described, I was looking a bit more for something in the lines of The Golden Child. This is probably gonna cut it for me, it’s been a while since I’ve seen any movie including Chan or Li.

  • I hadn’t been looking forward to this until now. I’ll be adding it to my calendar.

  • This movie differs from other Jackie Chan’s movies coz’ the heroe is a white guy and not Jackie himself.

That’s why Jackie try to minimize his role when interviewed by journalists from Asia.

  • Jet Li vs Jackie Chan! Great anticipation, hope they don’t screw it up with the white boy.

Drunken master strikes again? This will Show Chan in his best style of cinamatic fightting, involving his great skills with his always usefull envorioment/object involvment. Li is alway great! I only expect the best. The Kid?. . .? I guess will put a balance to the greatness, and a sidekick must always die. I’m there.
