Righteous Kill Promo Trailer Starring Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino

If I told you that Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino would be appearing on screen together again, would you be excited? Well, check out this trailer for the upcoming movie Righteous Kill and tell me if you’re still excited afterwards. It has potential, no doubt, but this has got to be one of the worst put together trailers I’ve seen all year. I’m really hoping it wasn’t intended for public consumption. Righteous Kill is a mystery-suspense flick about two NYC cops tracking down a vigilante killer. The movie co-stars Carla Gugino, Donnie Wahlberg, John Leguizamo and 50 Cent. It was written by Russell Gewirtz (Inside Man) and directed by Jon Avnet (Fried Green Tomatoes, 88 Minutes). I’m going to wait to see more before passing judgment on this one, but I really hope both Pacino and DeNiro can successfuly reclaim their careers again. Righteous Kill will be released sometime in 2008.

  • Yeah, that “two screen legends together as you’ve never seen them before” opening is truly awful and pointless, and to me makes this come across more as a festival-type promo piece and not a trailer.

Or maybe I’m just desperately hoping.

  • Jon Rocks

That looks like it was put together by an internet fanboy who is used to doing mash-ups. I don’t have much hope for this one… it looks almost like a straight to DVD release. Pity.

Oh man this is tough prediction. I love Nine Inch Nails and I love Heat and then you throw in Brian Denehey. Inside Man was alright and a director that has done something as odd as Fried Green Tomatoes… it might be pretty cool.

i think burbanked is right about it being some type of rough cut or promo piece because this isn’t a real trailer. i have high hopes for this film so we’ll see…..

  • Didn’t 88 minutes go straight to video? Anyone actually seen 88 Minutes?

  • Brian

I think this is the rough cut or promo reel. I’ve been reading that. I hope to see the real one!

It’s just a fanmade trailer, i mean come on. 1. it had no greencard or redband, 2. the words looked as if they were typed, and 3.it had the poster at the end like all fanmade trailers do.
