This Week on DVD – Nov. 6, 2007

Now that we’re getting into the holiday shopping season, you can bet there are going to be a lot more major DVD releases in the coming weeks. This week Pixar’s Ratatouille hits store shelves, along with Michael Moore’s Sicko, Johnnie To’s Election, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry starring Adam Sandler. Also out today is the first season of one of my favourite new shows, Flight of the Conchords, plus the entire series runs of Seinfeld, Full House, and X-Files. There’s even a documentary about the font Helvetica… what more could you ask for?

Been looking forward to the Helvetica movie for some time, pretty excited to hear that it’s out on DVD.

  • Good week for DVDs, I’ve also been anxiously waiting for the Helvetica DVD as well as a chance to really go thru the Flight of the Conchords series. Good Times.

Also, the Kids are going to be watching Ratatouille a lot in the near future. Two theatre visits and they’ve been waiting for this DVD (and to be honest so have I. Pixar’s best film to date.)

expensive day. I’m saving the last Seinfeld set for the Xmas list or a slow DVD week, picked up Colbert, Sicko, Ratatouille and FOTC.

I thought Helvetica was actually out last week. man that snuck up and came out faster than I thought it would.

is there anything on the Pixar shorts DVD thats not out already?

  • just picked up the Rat for $20 after tax at BB. Not bad. My kids should be happy for the next little while, and I’m happy because they are enjoying a top-shelf film over the usual trash that is out there. I love how this film aims to stretch its audiences imagination rather than confine or pander to it. Yum.
