Futurama Movie: Bender’s Big Score DVD Trailer

If you were one of the many who thought The Simpsons Movie just wasn’t all that funny, and that it came way too late in the show’s lifespan, here’s something that just might make up for it. Matt Groening’s other animated series Futurama is getting a feature-length movie as well — actually four of them. The difference here is that they will be direct to DVD releases, and that they will actually be pretty funny! Groening’s cult sci-fi comedy has been resurrected much like Family Guy, due to strong DVD sales and continued fan support. It remains to be seen whether or not the show will return to a regular production schedule, but for now Comedy Central will break up each of the movies and air them as half-hour episodes. The first movie is called Bender’s Big Score and it will be released on November 27th. A trailer for the movie has now appeared online (I think it’s the same promo that was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year). Are you excited? I know I am. You can check out the artwork and specs for the DVD release over at DVD Active.

  • Futurama action figures just also got released. Fry and Zoidberg are right next to me. each of the 6 figures to be released come with a piece of the Robot devil, which you construct yourself afterwards.

  • How old are you again? :D

  • Out of all the TV on DVD box sets I have, Futurama is the one I watch the most. It’s one of the funniest shows, way better than Family Guy. I’m very excited, and I hope this spawns more seasons, even if just on Swim or some other cable network.

  • I’m sad to say that I never really watched Futurama when it originally aired, but I caught up with it on DVD a few years ago and it’s probably the full series of a show that I’ve watched more than any other now. I can’t wait for this. On November 27th, I’m in there like swimwear.

  • Goon

    “How old are you again?”

we cant all live in empty white rooms dressed in all black spandex.

    I am awesome years old.

  • “we cant all live in empty white rooms dressed in all black spandex.”

Well I guess it IS either that or buying toys to bring in the room.

  • toys are simply quirky decorations. some people want a china hutch filled with silverware they’ll never use, some people want an Iron Man figurine. so what? If its childish to want some toys around, i’ll take whatever insults you’ll throw at me. if a shelf of thimbles in a sparse room with still life paintings and doilies under everything is being an adult, fuck adulthood.

  • Come on, obviously I’m joking. I even put a smiley in there, just for you! You can buy all the toys you want.

Don’t say a word about paintings though.

  • i see the smiley now. i was a a different computer using a strange browser i’d never used before, on which the smiley didnt show.
