Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Oct. 7, 2007

Hey guys, here’s a new feature we’re trying out on the site to help you keep up to date with the world of movies. We understand that not everyone can visit Film Junk on a daily basis (crazy, I know), and sometimes the amount of news can be overwhelming for the more casual reader. So every weekend we’re going to try to recap the biggest news from the week in a single post, and also throw in a few quick links to some stuff we may have missed. We’re also considering doing this as a weekly e-mail list too, as a quick and easy way for you to stay on top of the latest happenings. Let us know if you’re interested!

  • This is an awesome feature! I’d definitely join a mailing list as well.

  • When are you back on Talkshoe btw?

  • Actually that’s a good point, we’ll be recording our show tomorrow and I think the technical issues have finally been fixed. I’ll put up a post ahead of time if we decide to broadcast live this week.

  • This is a good idea for a feature, and a mailing list is a smart move in my opinion as well. I specifically like the “Some Stories We Didn’t Cover” feature because this is really the only film site I regularly check. I peek at AICN now and then, but I prefer the community and voices here more than other sites. Keep doing what you’re doing. With the longer podcasts lately and some of the new features you’re trying/talking about trying, Film Junk is better than ever these days.

It would be cool to send it on facebook too since you already notify us on your upcoming podcasts there.

Bret Ratner is no John Carpenter. I wonder does he have style most of his films are kind of bland from an auteur standpoint. Oh well it’s better than McG.

  • TheSnowLeopard

I like that idea. Sign me up!

  • Julien

I’m definitely up for the mailing list. You guys never seem to stop improving the Film Junk experience.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys. We’re going to look into some web tools to manage an e-mail list, but in the meantime we may just use the Facebook Group as an easy way to send out the weekly digest to all of you.

We’re hoping to introduce a few more tweaks and improvements in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

i would also join the mail feature.

  • As Greg would say: nice! Can’t wait to hear the new podcast!
