New To Theatres This Weekend – Oct. 5, 2007

Wide releases this week include the latest Farrelly Brothers comedy The Heartbreak Kid, the story of Puerto Rican rapper in Feel The Noise, and another children’s fantasy book brought to the big screen with The Seeker: The Dark is Rising. Also playing in a fairly large number of theatres is Robin Swicord’s The Jane Austen Book Club. If you live near a big city, you might have the chance to see a few more interesting movies including George Clooney’s new movie Michael Clayton, Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited. Why are some of these movies taking so long to roll out? I don’t think I’ll ever understand it. Don’t tell me Michael Clayton wouldn’t bring in more people than Feel The Noise!

  • This is one week I could live without a review on the podcast…

It’s pretty impressive that My Kid Could Paint That has gotten a theatrical release. It must be good. I’m even more excited about it now. Hopefully it’ll be at CPH:DOX!
