Monday Morning Box Office Report: Sept. 17th, 2007

Jodie Foster revenge thriller The Brave One took top honours at the box office this weekend, and although it didn’t bank a ton of money, I still found it somewhat surprising. I didn’t think Foster’s name alone was a big draw for people, but apparently a lot of people just wanted to see her get her dog back. 3:10 to Yuma is still going strong in its second week, with another $9 million weekend, while Billy Bob Thornton comedy Mr. Woodcock also netted $9 mil despite awful reviews. Korean monster movie Dragon Wars placed 4th with $5 million, which is pretty impressive for a foreign film, although it was playing in over 2000 U.S. theatres. Superbad remained in the top 5 with a $5 million weekend, bringing its current total to $111 million. Wow.

1. The Brave One — $14M
2. 3:10 to Yuma — $9.15M
3. Mr. Woodcock — $9.1M
4. D-War — $5.38M
5. Superbad — $5.2M
6. Halloween — $5.01M
7. The Bourne Ultimatum — $4.15M
8. Balls of Fury — $3.34M
9. Rush Hour 3 — $3.33M
10. Mr. Bean’s Holiday — $2.65M

  • Great news for Miss Foster.

I think she has a lot of loyal fans who will watch any movie that she is playing in.

I like her professionalism very much.

    Yours Sincerely.
