It’s been 10 long years since Francis Ford Coppola directed a movie (unless you believe that he ghost-directed the 2000 sci-fi bomb Supernova… who knows how he got associated with that), but the man is finally returning with a new film this Christmas called Youth Without Youth. Not much is known about the movie at this time except that it stars Tim Roth and Alexandra Maria Lara, and it takes place in Europe prior to WWII. Apparently it is some sort of love story about “a professor whose life changes after a cataclysmic incident”, and it is based on a novella by Romanian author Mircea Eliade. It is not a particularly mainstream project, but IGN have just debuted the first teaser trailer for the film, and it definitely has me intrigued. Will the man who brought us Apocalypse Now and The Godfather wow us again? Or is this one just a little too out there? Check out the clip below and see what you think. Youth Without Youth hits select theatres on December 14th.
