The Killing of John Lennon Trailer
Here’s another movie that we haven’t really heard about yet in North America, but I suppose it makes sense that it should be primarily promoted in the U.K., being that it’s a British production and revolves around the murder of one of the most famous Brits to ever walk the planet. The Killing of John Lennon is basically a biopic about the guy who shot John Lennon, Mark David Chapman. Now you may be asking yourself, “What’s so interesting about Mark David Chapman”? Well, I’m wondering the same thing myself. From the trailer, it seems that the whole film is about his obsession with the book The Catcher in the Rye. The guy was obviously off his rocker, so I worry about any possible implications that there was coherent reasoning behind his actions. Still, the tagline, “He was nobody, until he killed the biggest somebody on earth” is a good one, albeit somewhat depressing. Does this guy really deserve to be glorified as some sort of anti-hero? To be fair, after asking that, I also have to wonder if any killer at all really deserves a movie of their own. Check out the trailer below and see what you think. The Killing of John Lennon hits theatres in the U.K. on November 28th.
