I’m really looking forward to the release of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan on DVD next month, but I was really hoping for some form of behind the scenes footage, or an audio commentary detailing the production process on such a unique film. While the DVD doesn’t offer any of those things, here is a great (and lengthy) interview that was recently posted online with two of the writers of Borat, Anthony Hines and Peter Baynham. I still don’t really understand how they qualified for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, but this interview gives you an idea of what they went through to piece a movie like this together. Pretty interesting stuff.
