Earlier in the week I posted about the first feature film from George A. Romero’s son Cameron and now, not to be outdone, it looks like dad is moving forward with a new project of his own. This week George Romero announced he would be directing a new independently-produced movie called Diary of the Dead. Isn’t this guy getting sick of zombie movies yet? Well, to be fair, I guess no one else is either. The film sounds like it will be unconnected to his previous Dead movies, instead focusing on a group of film students who encounter real zombies while shooting a horror movie in the woods. Blair Witch Project anyone? Personally I think it would be more interesting if he did a movie called Diarrhea of the Dead, about a group of zombies afflicted with intestinal dysfunction. Now that would be shocking! Diary of the Dead starts filming on October 11th in Toronto (the zombie capital of the world).
