  • I have to get this off my chest.

Katie says she doesn’t like how her movie choice depicts homosexuals as obsessed with sex.

Yet prior to that, Cory confirms the “stereotype” by mentioning on how observed “lotsa boobs and penis'”, while at the gay pride parade in Toronto.

Sounds like great entertainment for the entire family.

  • Well what about the gay people who didn’t attend the pride parade, and instead stayed home and kept their genitals covered?

Besides, you can’t tell me heterosexuals aren’t sex obsessed!!

  • “lotsa boobs and penis’”

actually, i saw about 4-5 of each, all in one section at the end… the Nudist group, not littered among the other floats. (okay, some hippie chick somewhere in the middle had body paint on)
Last year, the only nudity I saw was a topless woman, who it turns out is actually just a stripper who happened to be an exhibitionaist… and straight. (roomate knows her)

“Sounds like great entertainment for the entire family.”

Well as for me, I don’t go to the parade for the nudists, I don’t know if I care to see it in public, but its a little funny to see because its unexpected. They arent prominently featured on floats or anything, just a few stragglers, maybe one has a sign. people dont go nuts about them or anything, and the nudists were certainly not ‘hot’ by any standard. old people, fat people, not even necessarily gay. I’m pretty sure these stragglers get arrested and are not part of the parade itenerary. But they always are the ones that end up on the news (at least the Sun, pro gay for one day of the year to sell papers, the rest of the year fighting against gay rights) because its sensationalistic.

If you’re mature enough to realize that a mammary every human being has sucked on for food and the organ that brang the sperm which gave you life in itself is less offensive then the hours and hours of violence you allow children to see (not that I’m necessarily incredibly opposed to that anyways if you can teach your kids the difference between fantasy and reality), you have nothing to worry about. Unless you’re a prude who was taught that the body is something to be ashamed of, and that seeing these body parts will invoke sexual thoughts on everyone who sees them, you will be fine.

Dude, I went to art school, I’ve seen every age, every race, every orientation, both sexes, nude, right in my face, to learn. I learned pretty quick that ‘naked equals funny’ or something to hide from people… is retarded. its the human form. would you keed children from seeing Michaelangelo’s “David” because of the prominent wang, or Venus riding the clam? it’s such bullshit, and that you’d bring up the ‘family’ to make some point makes me want to puke. honestly.

Theres a simple reason the Gay Pride Parade is bombastic: its a fucking parade. As gay rights become an issue people are comfortable talking about without whispering behind their childrens backs, the parade appropriately gets less and less adult oriented. Every gay person I’ve ever met (and I’ve met a shitload) dresses exactly the same as you or I. I know from several posts how easily shocked you are by anything gay, like those billboards, so I dont expect you to understand, somewhat expect some limp retort like “you dont see us having a straight pride parade!”, but please – that the only comment you had about the show was an offhand comment that I saw some nudity at a parade – thats so lame, and so predictable.

  • Tom, if you want to check out some sex obsessed heterosexuals to bring some balance to the force, check out:

    Girls Gone Wild
    Daytona Beach
    Mardi Gras
    PETA
and so on, and so on…

  • hahaha, and whatever you do, make sure you dont go to Times Square, you might see a man in his underpants playing the guitar

we must dull down all our culture into Disneyfied “family” entertainment. We must make life less interesting… for the children!

  • I’m in a frenzy now because of my last sentence. Thats what it boils down to for me. Is there no room in the world for slightly more adult events in public? Does everything really have to be about selling to a Christian family that probably wouldnt even come out to support the event anyways?

the fines for ‘indecency’ in the US, whether for language or nudity, are higher than any environmental violation, and by a wide margin. Is that the priority? I made this illustration for Boston’s Weekly Dig – http://corey-pierce.com/images/mustard2005_03.jpg – and of course it ended up with a mother writing in about how my art corrupted her children. By allowing all cultural events to be dulled into acceptable bite size family unit levels, we are doing a disservice to our culture as a whole, and lying to ourselves about the world we live in.

  • Henrik

This may be off topic, but I enjoyed the show immensely once again.

And I know the poster thing was insanely stupid, but I thought it was too gay not to be mentioned.
