Robin Williams To Play The Joker?

Well we haven’t had any good Joker casting rumours lately, so over at Moviehole they’ve decided to indulge us with a brand new one. It seems that Robin Williams has been quoted in a recent interview saying that he’d like to work with Christopher Nolan again, and that he’d be especially interested in playing the Joker in Nolan’s next Batman flick. Strangely, rumour has it that Williams was in the running to play the Joker in Tim Burton’s Batman, and also possibly The Riddler in Batman Forever. Logically speaking, he could probably pull it off… we all know he’s been playing those darker characters lately (Insomnia, One Hour Photo) although personally I would hate to see him in this role. Let’s face it, he would just totally overdo it. On the other hand, if the chance came up to play a female version of Alfred, I would love to see him reprise his role as Mrs. Doubtfire in the new Batman movie.

    i think williams would be an interesting person to play the joker, but i think the film needs someone who is very funny, but not too over-the-top like williams.

    i know that williams was consider for the riddler awhile back. i would like to see williams in this role, but only if he is dark and evil in it which i think he can do. 2 other names that have been linked to the role of the joker are Steve Carrell and Paul Bettany.
