Examining Racism With FX Networks’ New Reality Series “Black. White.”
Here’s an interesting new reality show that’s bound to spark some controversy. FX Networks has teamed with producers R.J. Cutler (The War Room), Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez (Next Friday, Friday After Next) to create Black. White., a series where one white family and one black family take on massive make-up transformations to undergo a “race change” if you will. The show hopes to delve into the differences between black and white culture and how each are treated in society. The last time a reality show tried to test bigotry and prejudice, it was cancelled before it even had a chance to air due to public outcry (ABC’s Welcome To The Neighborhood). For a closer look at the makeovers that each family received, check out this photo gallery. Black. White. premieres on Wednesday March 8th at 10 pm only on FX Networks (which isn’t available in Canada so I guess we’ll have to torrent it).
