Trailer For Studio Ghibli’s “Tales from Earthsea”

A Japanese trailer has appeared online for Studio Ghibli’s upcoming animated feature Gedo Senki (Tales from Earthsea), directed by Hayao Miyazaki’s son, Goro Miyazaki. The movie is based on a series of books by Ursula K. Le Guin, specifically the third one entitled The Farthest Shore. It looks like another beautiful adventure with intricate animation from the same talented studio that brought us Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Hayao Miyazaki’s own most recent film, Howl’s Moving Castle, is up for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and will be released on DVD in North America next week. Anyone interested in keeping up with the production of Tales from Earthsea can read the English translation of Goro Miyazaki’s blog over at Nausicaa.net. Check out the trailer at the link below.

  • Looking good. I’ve never gotten into Japanese Anime, but it may be worth looking into for overall imagination and original story lines.

As I’ve said before, “Japs Rule!”.
