Halo 2 Announced For The PC
Gamers without an X-Box who have been patiently awaiting their chance to play the sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved will finally be able to get their hands on it… one of these days. Despite the fact that the game is now already about a year and a half old, Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios officially announced that they will be bringing the wildly successful game to the PC sometime soon, although they failed to set a specific release date. No real surprise there I suppose, but the interesting thing is that they’ve confirmed that Halo 2 will only be available exclusively for Microsoft’s next operating system, Windows Vista (to be released July 23, 2006). Imagine that… using Halo to persuade people to buy another Microsoft product. I’m getting a weird sense of deja vu here. There is a long post on Bungie’s official site with more details, and the standard cop out response: “Bungie Studios and Microsoft’s steadfast commitment to quality determined that the Windows Vista platform would provide the best possible version of Halo 2 for the Windows PC.” Riiiiight.
