New to Theatres This Weekend: Greta, A Madea Family Funeral, Apollo 11

We’ve got two new movies in wide release this weekend, but neither are likely to threaten How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral should be good for the usual $20-$30 million debut, although it could pull in slightly more since it will supposedly be the final Madea film. Also hitting theatres is the Neil Jordan thriller Greta starring Isabelle Huppert and Chloe Moretz. In select theatres we have the acclaimed documentary Apollo 11 arriving in 120 IMAX theatres while Gaspar Noe’s Climax, Michael Winterbottom’s The Wedding Guest and Christian Petzold’s Transit also hit a handful of screens. On top of that, several Oscar winners are expanding to more theatres again including Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born, The Favourite, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. What will you be watching this weekend?

Wow, Climax just out over there? The blu-ray has been out here for a little while and I watched it this week. Noe’s best and certainly his easiest to watch! Great dancing sequences! I just bought the soundtrack and it certainly gets my bum wiggling.
