Although I’m sure it will also be advertised at the Super Bowl, Universal has released the first full trailer for the long-awaited Fast & Furious spin-off starring The Rock and Jason Statham ahead of time. The official title is Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and it finds the two rivals teaming up for the greater good in a classic buddy action-comedy set up that takes place two years after the events of The Fate of the Furious. It also finds the Fast & Furious franchise essentially becoming a full-blown superhero movie as Idris Elba plays a cyber-genetically enhanced villain. The movie is directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick) and it co-stars Vanessa Kirby, Roman Reigns, Cliff Curtis, Eddie Marsan and Helen Mirren. Hobbs & Shaw hits theatres on Aug. 2nd; check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.
