Ghostbusters 3 Teaser Trailer

gb3

Following up on yesterday’s announcement that Jason Reitman is directing a brand new Ghostbusters sequel, there is now also short teaser trailer to go with it. Obviously there are no actual Ghostbusters to see since the cast is still unannounced, but it gives us just a hint of where the story might pick up again. It does, however, rely pretty heavily on Elmer Bernstein’s score for the original film to evoke some nostalgic goosebumps. The untitled Ghostbusters sequel is expected to hit theatres in summer 2020; check out the teaser after the jump and see what you think.

I’m just going to enjoy being excited for this while I can – pretty sure that excited anticipation will be deflated once the cast is announced (think Kevin Hart, any Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy).

Ghostbusters is the new Terminator. “Oh, you didn’t like the reboot we did that was trying to distance it’s self from the original franchise you love and cherish?. OK then, here’s the sequel we should have done from the start”

Except that for Terminator, the Sequel that they “should have done from the start” was far worse than the reboot (which wasn’t really a reboot anyway).

is this the record for the longest time between a trailer and the movies release? I can’t think of another movie that had a trailer more than a year and a half in advance, can anyone else?

At least TSCC was very good.
