Burning Trailer: The Acclaimed Korean Drama Starring Steven Yeun

burning

Lee Chang-dong’s Burning has been slowly building a lot of buzz on the festival circuit this year after earning glowing reviews out of Cannes back in May. Based on a short story by Haruki Murakami, the movie stars Yoo Ah-in (The Throne, Punch) as a young man who reconnects with a childhood crush (Jeon Jong-seo) and comes into contact with her mysterious friend (The Walking Dead‘s Steven Yeun). After watching the trailer, it is unclear where things go from there but apparently that mysterious friend hides a dark secret. I don’t know about you, but I’m in! Burning hits select theatres on Oct. 26th; check out the official U.S. trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Wanted to like it, but it felt like nothing was happening for the majority of it. The protagonist (who seems to be on the spectrum) keeps going into an apartment and masturbating for a good portion of it. Can’t tell you much else, because I dropped way too much lid.

This looks incredible! And I’m a big Haruki Murakami fan so this is a must-see.
