Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind Trailer

After Judd Apatow’s 4.5 hour deep dive into the psyche of the late Garry Shandling earlier this year, HBO is releasing another documentary about a legendary comedian this summer who had his own struggles with mental health. Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind looks like a long overdue tribute to the beloved actor and comedian who took his own life back in 2014. It is directed by Marina Zenovich, who is best known for the Roman Polanski docs Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired and Roman Polanski: Odd Man Out but also previously explored the life and times of an iconic stand up comic with 2013’s Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic. The movie features narration from Williams himself and interviews with many of his close friends including Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, and Steve Martin. Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind premieres on HBO on July 16th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Hmm, how will I be able to watch this without HBO?

Hate that they only refer to him as a “comic.” I prefer his dramatic roles much more than any of his comedic shows or movies.
