First Man Trailer: Ryan Gosling is Neil Armstrong

Following up on the success of his 2016 musical La La Land, director Damien Chazelle is reteaming with Ryan Gosling for something completely different: a Neil Armstrong biopic called First Man. The movie recounts NASA’s mission to put a man on the moon between the years 1961 to 1969 including the great sacrifice and risk required to do it. This looks like it will offer a few more visceral thrills than your average paint-by-numbers biopic since part of it was shot in IMAX, although the full extent of those sequences is still unknown. First Man co-stars Claire Foy, Corey Stoll, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Shea Wigham and Jon Bernthal and it hits theatres just in time for awards season on Oct. 12th. Kyle Chandler is perfectly cast, he really looks like he’s from the 1960s. This looks good, hope it takes risks.
