Paul Feig’s A Simple Favor Trailer Starring Anna Kendrick

Paul Feig recently stated that he would love to make another Ghostbusters movie if the studio was interested, but in the meantime he hasn’t been sitting around waiting for that phone call to come. His next movie is currently in post-production and it finds him switching genres completely. A Simple Favor is a thriller that revolves around a mommy vlogger (Anna Kendrick) who goes in search of the truth when her best friend Emily (Blake Lively) mysteriously disappears. Based on the novel by Darcey Bell and a screenplay co-written by Jessica Sharzer (Nerve, American Horror Story), this isn’t the first time Feig has stepped outside of comedy (see: the concentration camp drama I Am David) but it is cool to see him trying something new. A Simple Favor co-stars Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart and Rupert Friend and it hits theatres on Sept. 14th. Check out the first trailer after the jump and see what you think.

The poster echoes the light-hearted thrillers of the 60’s such as Charade, and the teaser seems to follow that tone.

Like the trailer don’t like Lively but it does look interesting.
